How much will web design and development cost me?
There are many factors that are going to affect the cost of your web site. These factors include how large of a web site you are going to have, if you will sell products or services online through your website, how intensive the graphic work involved will be, and how interactive your web site will be. In order to correctly answer this question a design review will be needed for your site. A design review consists of either a form you will need to fill out and return to us covering what exactly you want your new or existing site to do for you, an in person or over the phone discussion about what your needs and expectations are or both. After the design review process has been completed we will then be able to give you an accurate quote on the total cost. Keep in mind there will also be a separate fee for web hosting and domain name registration.

Why avoid “cheap department store” computers?
Many big-box systems are proprietary or integrated, meaning key components are built directly into the motherboard or case. This limits upgrades and makes repairs costly.
What exactly is a proprietary or integrated system?
It’s a computer where much of the hardware—video card, sound card, network card, modem, and controllers—is built into the main board. These systems often use under-powered power supplies and lower-end CPUs or chipsets.
What problems can proprietary systems create for me?
- Expensive repairs: Replacement parts come only from the original manufacturer. A proprietary power supply can start around $145, while a standard clone supply costs about $45.
- Frequent errors: Low-end chipsets cause more Windows driver and compatibility errors.
- Limited upgrades: You may only be able to replace CPU, RAM, or hard drive. Integrated video/modem components often can’t be upgraded or disabled.
- Restore-disk hassles: Re-installing Windows usually requires formatting the hard drive and losing data.
- Outdated performance: Cheap chipsets may not support the latest CPUs.
What about expandability?
Most proprietary systems have only one or two expansion slots. Once they’re full, you can’t add modern components or higher-end graphics.
How does this affect downtime?
When something breaks, you often have to ship the whole unit to a factory repair center and wait—costing you valuable work time.
